{"id":62,"date":"2014-06-07T00:01:31","date_gmt":"2014-06-07T00:01:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/smartchoice.pk\/blog\/?p=62"},"modified":"2026-01-14T19:11:11","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T14:11:11","slug":"pakistan-broadband-growth-at-64-percent-expected-to-cross-4-million-in-2014","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/smartchoice.pk\/blog\/2014\/06\/pakistan-broadband-growth-at-64-percent-expected-to-cross-4-million-in-2014\/","title":{"rendered":"Pakistan broadband growth at 64% &#8211; expected to cross 4 Million in 2014"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So you know what we are all &#8211; Broadband and Internet in Pakistan &#8211; and we keep a close eye on trends and see how things are shaping up with respect to Broadband uptake and penetration in the country.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.pta.gov.pk\/index.php?option=com_content&amp;view=article&amp;id=269:telecom-indicators&amp;catid=124:industry-report&amp;Itemid=599\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Telecom indicators<\/a>, as published by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), have shown remarkable increase in the number of broadband subscribers &#8211; month by month &#8211; over the past two years across all sorts of broadband technologies &#8211; wired or wireless.<\/p>\n<p>In 2011, for example, total number of broadband subscribers in Pakistan stood at 0.9 Million and jumped close to\u00a02.0 Million by the end of 2012. These trends were exciting &#8211; we know how the Internet has help develop countries and societies across the globe &#8211; and we know internet awareness will play a powerful role in the development and progress in Pakistan too.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>We ran a quick analysis, threw in some number crunching, and have expect broadband growth to stand at 64 percent by the end of 2014 &#8211; with broadband subscribers to cross 4.2 Million by the end of this year.<\/strong> This is rapid growth and the momentum just seems to be increasing with every month.
