Internet providers often provide special packages for various segments of population and students are no exception. Among all the service providers only two have special packages for students.

PTCL and Wi-Tribe.

Student Package

While PTCL requires the presence of telephone line, there is no compulsion in the case of Wi-Tribe. The only Wimax company with student package, Wi-Tribe offers a special package for students in its 1 Mbps broadband category. Priced at Rs. 1,299/month instead of the regular Rs. 1,499/month, the student package comes with some special features not found in others.

Benefits?

• Student package has special “Student Hours” where a fixed 1 Mbps speed is provided. The speed varies during non-Student Hours between 512 kbps to 1 Mbps
• Student Hours start from 12 midnight to 6 pm in the evening, total 18 hours each day.
• Data cap during Student Hours is 34 GB and non-Student Hours is 6 GB. For regular 1 Mbps connection the total data cap is 34 GB.
